Chapter Advisor: Mrs. Stalzer
The National Junior Honor Society was founded in 1929 to recognize excellence in students in the areas of scholarship, character, service, citizenship, and leadership. According to the National Junior Honor Society Handbook, “Selection to NJHS is a privilege bestowed upon students by the faculty of the school, and not considered a right inherent to any student. Students do not apply for membership in the NJHS. Instead, they await a request or invitation from the faculty advisor and council to provide information to be used by the council to support their candidacy for membership.”
The Saint Margaret Mary Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Academy, established in the 2018 school year, looks to bring this distinguished level of student recognition to our academy.
The Sacred Heart Catholic Academy After School Program is open to students of the Academy in grades 3K through 6th (students in grades 7 and 8 are negotiable). The program is also open to students from PS/IS 113 in grades K through 5.
The program allows time for a light snack (not provided by the Academy), homework, free time (inside or outside, weather permitting) and movies. It runs from dismissal until 6:00 P.M. and is under the supervision of Sacred Heart Catholic Academy teachers. Pre-registration is required.

For SHCA students, you can opt to use the program on a daily basis, as needed.
PS/IS 113 Students Only
Students from PS/IS 113 will be picked up from the school auditorium by a SHCA faculty member and escorted to the Sacred Heart Catholic Academy After School Program.
We provide early morning drop off for all students prior to our regular start time. The program opens at 7:00 and it is staffed by Sacred Heart personnel. There is no need to register. Your child can be dropped at the school’s 84th Street entrance anytime between 7:00 am and 7:35 am. A $5/day fee applies.
Our summer program will be open during the month of July, daily from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. It is open to children in Nursery through Grade 6. It is staffed by Sacred Heart Catholic Academy personnel and high school volunteers. The children are separated into groups by age. Activities include sports, arts and crafts, cooking, games, movies, computer, trips, special presentations, and more.

Sacred Heart Catholic Academy offers hot lunch Monday through Thursday. Please print and fill out the form below and return it with payment to the school office.
The due date is on the form, no lunch orders will be accepted after the date on the form.
SHCA teachers will now be available for afterschool academic enrichment in Math and ELA. Teachers will review material specific to the needs of the student. The program starts October 2 and will run through May. Completed permission slip and payment required before your first session.
